Most people make only a short stop in Banja Luka when they are on their way to Belgrade, Zagreb or Sarajevo. Other visitors come mainly for rafting, the number one sport in the region, practiced on the darting rivers slicing the luscious green hills of Republika Srpska. Unfortunately not many people know the vibrant nightlife scene the capital of the Republika Srpska has to offer. As so many other cities on the Balkan Banja Luka has a rich café culture. During the day people take a lunch break in of the ‘slasticarnas’, the local ‘cake cafes’. Later in the evening a pulsating nightlife awakens the city offering a variety of bars and clubs which even keep the experienced late-night birds and die-hard clubbers busy through the night. A night out in Banja Luka is not complete without visiting the local folk clubs or 'folkotekas' where you listen and dance to Turbo Folk. You will either love or hate this ultra fast and kitschy version of Balkan folklore music which was invented in Serbia during the early 1990’s and found his way to all corners of the former republics of Yugoslavia. Don’t worry, when you are tired of the Turbo Folk, you have enough other venues to choose from featuring good rock and dance music. When heavy partying or late-night clubbing is not your cup of tea and you seek a quieter ambiance you can have a drink in one wine cellars or 'vinarnas' and test the local wines.
Make a stop in Underground ((Vase Pelegica street 10) when you like to be surrounded by the finest selection of Banja Luka girls. This lively club is notorious for its lovely local ladies who like to pout, pose and "be seen". After midnight the music changes from mainstream house to turbo folk which gets the crowd jumping and singing out loud. The atmosphere is spiced up further by sexy dancers and hostesses advertising cigarettes and alcoholic on themed nights. Banja Luka’s meat market number one is Capo Club (Jevrejska bb). This is a typical two-faces venue. During the day Capo Club is a pizzeria where people come for lunch and social chats. But at evenings the place transforms into a hot nightclub where pretty young things, dressed to kill, mingle with wealthy older businessmen. If you have come for flirting and socializing with pretty local girls and maybe even more, Capo Club is a safe bet in Banja Luka.
Noću, bar i klub ponuditi suprotnosti neposlušni atmosferu u kojoj prilično mlade djevojke druženje među malo stariji poduzetnici gužva. Sam klub ima dvije etaže; koketni bar ukrašen zavoljeti lusteri i zavjese, a ispod njega vrući plesni podij lupanje iz komercijalne plesne glazbe.
Za nepretenciozni zabave također je preporučeno da posjeti Sokolski dom (Marije Bursać bb), to živo mjesto ima elektroničke glazbe noći i komercijalne balkanska glazba je veliki hit među Banja Luci mlade gužve. U Hotelu Bosna ćete se u malom podrumskom klubu Padrino (Kralja Petra I Karađorđevića 97). Ovo mjesto je popularan kod studenata i drugih mladih ljudi koji pjevaju uz svoje omiljene narodne pjesme. Tu je također često tematske noći poput popularnih posebne studentske zabave. Popularni s učenicima, kao i je K4, koji se nalazi na rijeci Vrbas ispod Venecija mosta. Na početku tjedna bubnjevi-orkestar često igra tamo, u međuvremenu se na druge noći K4 funkcionira kao iza diskoteke posjetila je nervozan i oduševljen gužve.
Mystique on Miloša Obilića street 35 is a charming club that attracts the trendy crow of Banja Luka and features a small but fine dance floor. Alternative (electronic) dance lovers have their residence in Music Hall. This underground club on Carice Milice bb is very popular with the local ravers and hosts the best dance events and international DJs. Less pretentious entertainment and more mainstream music is featured in Club Kruna on Jevrejska street 3. During weekends this jam-packed club is a good joint for dancing to the latest floor fillers while being surrounded by the local hotties.The most loud club in town is Boom Boom Boom which deserves its name to the fullest. This venue on Veselina Masleše 15/17 is the favourite hangout of Banja Luka’s young revellers who jump and bounce in Boom Boom Boom to their favourite techno tunes.
